Every week for the remainder of the college football season I will be scouring through the Saturday slate to find three games that I like and a bonus game on Friday. Let’s have fun and lose all of our money.
Friday Night Game: 8 Washington State (-14) @ California
Pac 12 after dark on Friday features eighth ranked Wazzu traveling to Berkeley to play Cal. Last season the Cougars won this matchup 56–21 at home. Washington State is currently ranked 3rd in the country in passing offense while Cal ranks 109th in the country in pass defense. Heisman candidate Luke Falk should throw for at least 4 touchdowns.
10 Auburn (-6) @ LSU (Pick: Auburn)
LSU being at home doesn’t scare me after they lost to Troy. Coach O’s team can only move the ball on the ground where Auburn is only allowing 2.95 yards per carry which is good for 12th in the country. Moving the ball isn’t an issue for Auburn as they have averaged 48 points in their last three games.
12 Oklahoma vs. Texas (+8) Neutral (Pick: Texas)
The Red River Rivalry is always a tight game. Even during the Charlie Strong era, Texas lost by 5 in 2014, won by 7 in 2015, and lost by 5 in 2016. Tom Herman’s team has shown a ton of toughness after an embarrassing Week 1 loss to Maryland. I can’t see them losing by more than a possession.
6 TCU (-6) @ Kansas State (Pick: TCU)
Kansas State dominated the Horned Frogs 30–6 last season at TCU, but expect a very different result on Saturday. TCU has beaten two very good teams in Oklahoma State and West Virginia whereas Kansas State’s best win is against 0–5 Baylor. The Horned Frogs should win by two possessions on Saturday afternoon.
Other Games I like:
- Texas Tech @ West Virginia (-3) (Pick: West Virginia)
- Wyoming (+3) @ Utah State (Pick: Wyoming)
- Utah (+13) @ USC (Pick: Utah)
- Navy (+3) @ Memphis (Pick: Navy)
